Frequently asked questions

Questions to settle before removal day

Good answers depend on the structure and site. These are the details most likely to change scope, method, or timing.

Can a shed be removed with contents inside?

Contents can be included only after they are identified and accepted. Chemicals, fuels, batteries, cylinders, unknown liquids, and other regulated material need a separate disposal path.

Do I need to empty the shed first?

Do not assume either way. Photograph the contents and ask for the estimate to state whether cleanout is included.

Is the concrete slab included?

No. Slabs, piers, and deep footings should be separate written scope items.

Can the shed be moved instead of demolished?

This website covers removal and demolition. Relocation requires a provider equipped to evaluate structural integrity, lifting, transport, route clearance, and placement.

What affects price?

Size, material, deterioration, contents, anchors, slab work, access, carry distance, weight, and the number of loads all matter.

What if the shed has electricity?

Have the appropriate trade disconnect and make the service safe before demolition. Do not rely only on switching off a breaker.

What happens to the debris?

Accepted material is loaded and hauled away. Disposal or recovery options depend on material condition and available facilities; no donation or recycling outcome is guaranteed.

Can work happen on a steep lot?

Slope may change trailer placement, carrying method, crew needs, and whether the job can proceed safely. Send route photos early.

Do I need a permit?

Requirements depend on the jurisdiction, property, and scope. The property owner should confirm current requirements with the responsible authority.

Will the ground be ready for a new shed?

Removal does not automatically include grading, soil work, foundation construction, landscaping, or a new pad. Put the desired finish condition in writing.
